An app interface made to demonstrate basic UI/UX design principles.

An app designed entirely in Adobe Illustrator to remotely control a modernized version of the doggie door. The premise of the project was to take an already existing product or device and make an app to streamline its functionality.

Some preliminary sketches I did to initialize the UI and UX design portions of the app interface.

The doggie door was selected because a need was identified - to make the pet owning process easier for the average person.

This app was workshopped through multiple phases and iterations to make it as user friendly as possible. To see this end, a logo and both the user interface/user experience portion of the application were built from scratch.

Throughout the development, a minimalist yet modern approach was taken to give the UI a seamless, simple and modern feeling for the user. It first started with an idea, then wireframes, and finally the actual aesthetic and functional implementation.

The final user interface design was put through many functionality tests, and you can see a demonstration of the app being used above.

I also made a custom animation for the logo, which could perhaps be used when the app is opened/being loaded by the user.

A behind the scenes look at the phases of the logo design process.
